| Parrsboro and District Board of Trade hosted the celebration honoring William and Irene Wheaton, Parrsboro's Citizens of the Year! |

| If you weren't able to attend the Parrsboro Citizen's of the Year banquet, then you missed a lot! On Saturday, July, 29th, 2006, Parrsboro and District Board of Trade honored William and Irene Wheaton as Parrsboro's 2006 Citizen of the Year. The dinner was held at the Parrsboro Legion with over 150 in attendance and Bruce Graham as Master of Ceremony. |
| Many of Bill and Irene's family and friends attended the banquet. It was a night filled with shared memories, laughs and tears. During a short open mike several people quickly ran up front to share stories about Wheaton's Restaurant and the Wheatons' many contributions throughout the community. |
| The 'Elastic Big Band' began the event. During this time, the guests had a chance to express their best wishes and congratulations personally to Bill and Irene. |
| Many past employees of the Wheaton's restaurant showed up to help celebrate with the two honored citizens. |
| The Wheaton's received a congratulatory letter from Murray Scott as well a one of a kind lovely caricature drawn by Ian Black. |
